We're better together - employer branding

Challenge
When they became Wales’s largest social landlord, RCT Homes took on the country’s largest ever home improvements project. Internally, the big ask was how to engage with – and excite – staff such as those who TUPE’d across from the council. But this wasn’t simply an internal communications job. Yes, the objective was to build trust and communicate the new Vision and Values… but the scale of the changes, and their impact on organisational development, meant we needed to identify, develop and launch a complete employer brand identity.

Solution
It always starts with real people. It has to. We visited offices and housing estates across the Rhondda Valley, interviewing employees and tenants. These videos fed into research findings that formed the bedrock of the creative solutions. In turn, these were thoroughly tested and refined, in consultation with stakeholders, to produce an employer brand ‘footprint’ including positioning, messaging, look and feel.

Results
Initial response to the brand messages and the initiatives launched by RCT Homes and 360 Degrees has been extremely positive. But developing an employer brand is an ongoing commitment, and so we remain actively engaged ourselves in new thinking and new projects that will strengthen the RCT Homes brand – not just with employees, but with their customers too.
